We finished up our 6 week Healthy Eating Challenge on July 2nd – and if you’re on the edge of your seat waiting to hear the results, I’ll spill it right now: I managed a respectable weight loss of 5 lbs. Okay, Okay, I realize that may not sound like much. So I’ve included this oh-so-yucky visual to remind myself of what 5 lbs of pure fat actually looks like. GROSS!
My partner on this adventure, Quay, did phenomenally better than moi with a grand total of 8lbs lost! Not bad at all (plus he kept the entire process amusing by sending me hilarious & motivational cartoons along the way). We have decided on a bit of a side deal to keep him motivated throughout the summer as he aims to lose another 10.
As for me? I’m going to keep it up. These past 6 weeks have been like a research project for me – taking a close examination of the things that work and the things that definitely do not work. And I’m super excited to keep things going for the rest of the summer. Vowing that I will NOT be de-railed by my beach holiday coming up at the end of the month!
And – oh yeah – I promised a picture. (Oh DANG – why did I say I would do that?!?) My daughter took my nice, pricey (flattering photos) camera today so I am stuck at my desk with my less-flattering web cam to take pictures.
And I have curlers in my hair.
And I just took a picture and there is not one speck of difference in the way my face looks from 6 weeks ago.
I have stuck my tongue out purposely in my ‘after’ shot so that my cheeks will look less chubby.
Soooo: here I am at my desk today in all my glory. Yup – this is how the brainy gal rolls working from home!
