If you are a Virtual Assistant then I know you’re busy. Even if you don’t have that ‘full’ practice (yet)…I know you’re so freaking busy marketing yourself that sometimes your head spins.
I know it, because I’ve done it too. I still do it. In fact, there have been days that I’m SO busy that my wonderful kidlets have to concoct their own dinner out of whatever scrappings we have left from last weeks groceries. We’ve had cold cereal nights. Crackers and Cheese suppers. And far too many delivery boxes going out in my recycling bin.
Until I found my new secret weapon in the kitchen. Allow me to introduce you to Jess Dang and her company: Cooksmarts.
Since this blog oozes business and lifestyle advice for Virtual Assistants…please allow me to share (and GUSH) about how much I love this service…and how much TIME it could save a swamped V.A. when it comes to making meals.
For just a little over $5 bucks a month my life has been transformed. I no longer stare with panic into the fridge stressing about what to feed the family at 4pm every night. Cooksmarts has me knowing exactly what we’re having and whipping up easy, delicious and impressive HEALTHY meals all in about 30 minutes, every weeknight. Here’s how it works:
- Each week, you are e-mailed your meal plan. (And not just a main dish…this plan includes what to serve on the side as well)
- All the recipes for each meal are included – along with free videos demonstrating some of the cooking techniques, tips and tricks
- The meals are healthy…made with REAL ingredients and (here’s the kicker) take only 30-ish minutes to make!
- All meals are customizable…every single one allows you to choose the Original version, Paleo Version, Vegetarian or Gluten-Free. HELLO AWESOME.
- Cooksmarts give you access to their archives to add extra meals to your week or switch out the ones you don’t fancy.
- Once you’ve chosen which meals and versions you want for the week – a printable shopping list is created so you can hit the stores and buy only what you need for the week!
Sound amazing? It really is. The Cooksmarts Healthy Meal ideas take away that frustrating hunt around the kitchen looking for something fast to make after work every night which saves me a TON of time.
The recipes have inspired me to ditch the boring, “same-old” meals we’ve always eaten and impress the kids and hubby with ‘Panko-crusted Fish Tacos with Asian Slaw‘ (yup – in 30 mins, friends!) or beyond simple ‘Spinach Calzones with homemade Marinara Sauce‘ (they were a HUGE hit in this house). Although I consider myself a skilled culinary wizard in the kitchen…I don’t always have the time or energy to bother with it. The Cooksmarts meal plans keep things interesting. I always know what we’re having and have all the ingredients on hand to make it.
I am also saving money – boo-yah! (Have always wanted to say that). Yep…taking a list to the grocery store and buying only what I need for the week (instead of what I might-just-in-case-need) has saved me some big dollars at the grocery check-out. And the ingredients? Nothing weird. Everything simple and easy to find in my rural grocery store. Yeeessss!
I might also add that if you, how shall we say, Suck? in the cooking department then this service will teach you everything you ever wanted to know and then some. Even hubby can be talked into using the recipes and videos to make something other than Grilled Cheese on his night to cook.
Oddly enough, I have been wanting to write this post since I signed up for the service last month. But just this week a note popped into my inbox from Jess, offering $5 off the Cooksmarts Service to anyone who signs up using my link! Sweet deal. So if you want to give it a whirl, be sure to CLICK HERE to get your Five dollar savings 🙂
Note: All of my opinions are my own and I would never recommend a product or service that I haven’t used myself and deemed to be super-helpful and worthy! That said, Cooksmarts has an affiliate program that I participate in (and you can too!), meaning, should you choose to purchase the Service using my link and take advantage of the $5 savings, I would receive a gift from them. Yay!
