Keeping your Virtual Assistant Busy

This is the last post under my ‘Crazy Ways to Use a Virtual Assistant’ banner…and I’ve saved the best for last.   This one is mega-weird so, of course, I had to share.  I read about a client who used his Webcam to film himself in different outfits and then had his V.A. give her opinions on which outfit looked best.  OK – that’s just creepy and odd on so many levels – as a VA I don’t know if I’d agree to that.  (But I probably would – it would make for a great story on my blog, no?)

In any case – there are often times companies pay a retainer to keep their Virtual Assistant  available to them for a few hours each week.  So USE those hours creatively.  While I don’t recommend the whole ‘fashion consultant’ thing, you can still ask your VA for her opinion on other things.  Have her proof read your letters or e-mails, check out a presentation you’re working on and offer her advice, have her check references on your new employee, or enlist her to research and write a big bunch of blog posts that you can read, edit into your own voice, and post on your site.  Do the same for your twitter account and save yourself hours!  (Have you ever been tweet-stumped? – you know you have!)

There are a plethora of ways to keep a VA busy and ultimately bring more buzz to your business.  And if you really can’t decide which shoe looks best?  You can ask her that too. (But be warned…you just might find yourself the star of her next brainy blog post.)
