It’s time for all of us to ‘tweak the speak’ (update the wording!) on our websites and turn things around for the entire VA industry. If you want to attract the high-paying, high-quality clients who understand the value of an expert assistant you need to remove certain phrases from your lingo. Want to know what they are? I’m going to share my top 3 worst offenders and also tell you why the best clients get ‘scared’ when they see them. Ready?
Top 3 Phrases to Scare off Clients:
1. Phrase: “Virtual Assistants handle your mundane tasks so you can get on with your more important business”
Client Sees: “Virtual Assistants can only handle really simple stuff and can’t handle important business tasks”
2. Phrase: “A Virtual Assistant costs less than a traditional employee”
Client Sees: “Virtual Assistants are not as valuable as Real Employees, I can pay peanuts for a Virtual Assistant”
3. Phrase: “I offer my first hour of services free”
Client Sees: “I don’t have enough clients and therefore am desperate enough to give my time away for free”
Do you recognize any of those offenders from your own website or marketing materials? (Don’t feel bad…I used to have them on my website too). But not anymore!
You can banish those blurbs from your wording right now – and show your potential clients that you are highly capable of handling important jobs, that you are an expert and deserve to be paid well, and that you don’t give your highly-sought after skills away for free! (And I signed on a LOT more clients after removing those icky phrases from my own website!)
